Ventilation Calculator
How much window opening a room needs to be naturally ventilated, and how much airflow it needs if it is mechanically ventilated instead. It also runs the National Building Code's two room checks: ceiling height and air space per person.
- The free area of window openings, as a share of floor area.
- The mechanical ventilation rate for the room's use.
- Whether the ceiling height meets the minimum.
- Whether the room gives each person enough air space.
- Follows: PD 1096 (National Building Code), Rule VIII, Sections 805, 807, 808 and 811, and Table VIII.4 of its implementing rules.
- Air-conditioned spaces also have an outdoor air requirement; the air conditioning check covers that.
